Nea Fokea

Nea Fokea is a charming fishing village about 70 km far from Thessaloniki and known for fish restaurants and traditional cafes. Its popularity among tourists grows each year, and it contains many hotels and apartments, cafes, restaurants, taverns and shops. A special attraction is a fair which takes place each year on 29th and 30th June, in honour of the apostles Peter and Paul. The manifestation takes place next to the Saint Paul Church, located at the town entrance. Popular local products are fish, vegetables and honey, and every hour a local bus takes passengers to Thessaloniki. Night life in Nea Fokea is pretty scarce, as there are only few bars. The place attracts many tourists because it has unique natural beauties, hidden bays, nice beaches, crystal clear waters and tall pine trees stretching all the way to the beach.

Nea Fokea beach is long and sandy with crystal clear water. It is well organized and offers parasols and sun beds for rent. If you are accommodated outside Nea Fokea, you can easily get to the beach by personal or public transportation. Refreshments and fish specialities can be found in nearby taverns placed along the beach which overlooks Thoroneos bay.
