Kalamitsi is a lively, small, peaceful place for family vacation, situated on the southeastern part of the Sithonia peninsula, around 150 km from Thessaloniki. It is a beautiful inlet, protected from the waves and winds, with spacious sandy beach, far from the noise and night life. A quiet place, with much to do, few houses, cafes and restaurants, ideal for families with children. There are no many supermarkets, shops or souvenir stores here. Kalamitsi beach: Kalamitsi beach is beautiful, with sunbeds and parasols offerred for free if you buy a drink at a café they belong to. The sand is soft and the water is clean, with gradual entry into the sea. On the left end of the beach, looking towards the sea, there is a plentitude of anchored boats, so it is not the best choice for bathing. The Kalamitsi beach faces the open sea so it is exposed to big waves what children especially like. A lot of of Greeks come to this beach at weekends which speaks volumes about its beauty.
