Possidi, not so known tourist destination on Kassandra, is located further from the main road along the southwestern coast, around 100 km from Thessaloniki. Possidi was intended and built as a holiday destination with hotels and apartment blocks. Its landmark is a small lighthouse situated on a cape. There are many dunes surrounded by pine trees. The sand on Possidi stretches a couple of hundred meters into the sea and there is plenty space for sunbathing and swimming. Your main activities in this peaceful resort will be swimming and sunbathing on the beach or by hotel pool. Although the place is very developed tourismwise, the town has kept peaceful and quiet surrounding. The Menda fortress, built in 8th century BC in honour of Poseidon, offers a magnificent view of the small peninsula which stretches for hundreds of meters into the sea.
Possidi beach: Possidi boasts of the 3,5 km long beach, which is every year awarded a blue flag for translucent sea. Camp sites, cafes and bars, taverns with seafood and nice beaches make Possidi a perfect place for rest.
