Krstarenje zalivom Toroneos
If you are flying to Pefkochori and its surroundings, we recommend you cruise the Toroneos bay located between Sithonia and Kassandra. If you come to your holiday in your own organization, in all major cities like Kalitea, Hanioti, Polichrono, Pefkochori, in the central streets there are specialized agencies offering excursions, so you can reserve and pay a trip here, as well as at the mole in Pefkochori.
The cruise price, depending on the agency and the place you start, is 20-25 € per person. For small children under 6 years the excursion is free of charge, while for the elderly children, you pay half the agreed price. For a larger number of passengers it is possible to get a certain discount. The price includes lunch and a drink, otherwise you have all types of drinks, refreshments and coffee, which are charged.
For diving enthusiasts, a break at the Kelyfos island is scheduled, where you will be jumping from the boat and swimming in the middle of the bay. Do not be surprised if you encounter dolphins. The cruise consists of three parts, so lets get started.
- Swimming on the Toroni beach
From Pefkochori to the city of Toroni in Sithonia, it takes about 1.5 hours of boat ride. In the city of Toroni, where the bay itself is named the same way, you will meet unreally beautiful sand on the beach, which covers the whole coast. The break takes about an hour and a half, where you have time to swimm and walk along the beach. At the entrance to Toroni from the direction of Porto Koufo, there are the remains of an old fortress dating back to the 3rd century BC. The ship is usually anchored in the immediate vicinity, so you can also walk here if it’s not too hot, because it gives a beautiful view of Toroni.
After relaxing and swimming in Toroni, a lunch is served on the boat and a continuation of the excursion. For lunch, you get 5 kebab, white rice, a little tzatziki salad, a glass of juice and two slices of bread.
- Neos Marmaras
Upon returning to the ship, a shorter ride (possibly half an hour) takes you to Neos Marmaras, one of the largest and most popular sites in Sithonia. It is a true cosmopolitan city, and it is not without reason near the Porto Carras complex. The largest number of accommodation is located in the hill, so if you like hiking, but also the sea, this is an ideal place for you. The city beach is an excellent choice for swimming, and near Neos Marmaras there are several beautiful beaches. A break is not enough to go around the place, but definitely you need to make the most of it. No swimming, but a walk is planned unless it’s too hot, because it’s the hottest part of the day.
- Swimming and jumping from the boat at Turtles island
After finishing the sightseeing of the city, you sail for about twenty minutes to the Island of Turtles, where you are waiting for half-board and jumping from the boat, which is a unique and unusual experience. By the end of this beautiful day, feeding the seagulls will complete the experience, and you can even come across dolphins. They say that the island got its name by shape because it resembles a giant turtle from a distance. The island itself is not inhabited because there is no source of drinking water. The brave ones will jump from the deck to the sea, and those less courageous ones can afford to descend down a dedicated staircase for this unusual swim in the beautiful turquoise Aegean Sea. If you fly to Sithonia, a similar cruise is organized from Neos Marmaras, with the difference that the first swimming is not organized in Toroni, but on the Ksenia beach (Xenia beach).
