Nea Kallikratia is a large seaside town on the west coast of Halkidiki, about 45 km from Thessaloniki, and one of the resorts closest to the city and the airport. It has a long promenade with cafés and tavernas, sandy beaches in town and nearby, such as Vergia beach, and a market on Tuesdays. The Petralona cave is also close by. Great for a short break, for families and for anyone who wants to avoid a long drive.
