Agios Nikolaos is a large village at the entrance to Sithonia, about 110 km from Thessaloniki, with around 2,500 inhabitants who make a living from wine, honey, olive oil and tourism. Around the village are more than 30 km of coastline with picturesque coves and clean water, including the fishing village of Ormos Panagias and Trani Ammouda beach. The village has shops, pharmacies and a health centre, and on summer weekends traditional Greek evenings are held in the main square.
