Vourvourou is a quiet resort on the east coast of Sithonia, about 110 km from Thessaloniki, known for its shallow turquoise sea and the islets off its shore, the best known being Diaporos. There is no real centre or promenade: villas and apartments line the coast road, many of them right on the beach. The sandy beaches with shallow water are ideal for children, and hidden coves on the islands can be reached by boat. In the evening, dinner is at tavernas right on the waterfront.
