Amulliani

Amuliani is a small island, only a few square kilometers in area, but it is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and good weather conditions without wind, which is not typical for islands. Although inhabited, untouched nature reigns on it. Amuliani itself does not have a city beach, but all the others are close. Most of the beaches are sandy and you can reach them on foot or by local "taxi" - a trailer pulled by a donkey. The price of a one-way ticket is €2.

Alikes beach

The most beautiful and famous beach on the island is Alikes. It is about 2.5 km from the pier and you can reach it on foot, by car or by horse-drawn carriage from the city. The beach is about 1 km long, and the sea is a beautiful light blue color, which is rarely seen. The beach itself is located in a natural cove, with few waves, and the depth of the sea is ideal because the slope is very small and children can safely bathe and swim even 10 meters from the shore. There are several bars and restaurants on the beach offering a wide range of ready meals, menu items and seafood specialties. The beach is urbanized, with umbrellas and sunbeds (which are not charged if you order a drink). The most famous bar is Savana, which is located at the very end of the beach and has a very original atmosphere, since it is partly in the rock. The sea is crystal clear and transparent, fine sand both on the shore and in the water, a shallow area for children and a dock for jumping. There is enough space for visitors with their own equipment, and there is a Metohi restaurant on the beach that belongs to the camp.

Agios Georgios beach

The beach, located about 3.5 km from the pier, is quite long and the most beautiful part belongs to the cafe. This part has excellent natural shade, the shallows are the longest, and the road does not go right next to the beach. To the left and right of this cafe there are places for visitors with their own equipment.

Megali Amos beach

Also a nice beach with gradual depth and crystal clear sea. The left part of the beach, looking towards the sea, belongs to the cafe in the thick shade. The cafe on the beach has deckchairs and comfortable canopies, and to the left of the cafe is a free area, for those who have their own equipment. Megali Amos Beach is located on the eastern side of Amuliani Island, just behind Agios Georgios Beach. From here there is a beautiful view of the Drenia islands and the mountains of the Athos peninsula. It is a popular sandy beach with coarse sand, where there are several facilities. You can rent umbrellas and sunbeds, and there is also a tavern near the beach.

Karagatsi beach

The next beach we would recommend is Karagatsi, on the west side of Amuliani. It is a landscaped beach, and it is interesting because it is surrounded by high rocks. It is a very peaceful place, especially in the evening where you can relax and watch the sunset. There is a canteen on the beach - a cafe where you can order drinks and some food. Sunbeds are free with an order. There is free space on the left side of the beach to set up your equipment and bring your own food and drinks if you wish. The depth is gradual, the sea is clean, and the parking lot from the beach is mostly in the shade.

The beauty of the island, flawlessly clear sea and heavenly beaches, fantastic fish specialties and friendly residents bring more and more tourists to Amuliana every year.

Jerisos

The beach in Jerisos is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Athos. There is no crowd and it is an ideal place for a vacation with children. The sea is warm, even at the beginning of the season. The promenade by the beach is very nicely decorated, and next to the path there is a wonderful line of palm trees. There are many cafes along the beach where you can rent a sunbed, and the rest of the beach is free, so you can place your umbrella and towel wherever you want. The beaches around Jerisos are beautiful, less frequented, and lovers of solitude can enjoy them.

Kakoudia Beach

In front of Jerisos itself, 2 km before the center from the direction of Olympiad, there is a very beautiful Kakoudia beach. It is very easy to get to this beach, after you get off the main road towards the coast, go forward about 100 meters and turn right, there you will reach the beach itself. Kakoudia is a wide and long beach, with gradual depth and golden-yellow sand. It is usually not crowded, and there are no facilities, so be sure to bring your equipment, food and water with you. Crystal clear water and sand are beautifully combined with carved rocks, so what is this beach famous for. The beach is not organized and there are no sunbeds and umbrellas or a tavern, and the parking area is large enough to accommodate a large number of bathers. On the other side of the finger, about 6 km from Jerisos, there is the beach Xiropotami known for its fine and white sand. You can reach it by car in just ten minutes. If you prefer swimming in the shallow sea, then this beach is the ideal choice. When the wind is strong in Jerisos, then tourists move to this beach and there are significantly less waves and wind.

Nea Roda

What certainly adorns Nea Roda is the extremely clean sea and the beautiful sandy beach that has the Blue Flag of the Mediterranean. A beautiful and clean sea, a wide sandy beach and many other interesting places fit into the natural landscape. Here you can practice water and sand sports, and for fishing lovers this place is a real little paradise.

The legend of the beach

– Wet Dreams is located about 500 meters before Nea Roda. It is a beach with very fine sand, lighter in color, which is why the color of the sea is light blue. The beach has a very long shallow, so it is ideal for small children. The beach itself is dominated by a large bar and most of the beach is landscaped and belongs to it, but on both sides there is enough free space for visitors with their own equipment. Drink prices are affordable, and there is a rule of free sunbeds with an order from the bar. The sea is very beautiful, turquoise-blue and transparent. The beach is right next to the road and next to it there is a place where you can park your car.

Voulitsa beach

On the other side of Nea Roda, towards Mount Athos, there are two well-known beaches: Voulitsa, smaller and completely under umbrellas and sunbeds, and the other Komitsa, very long and mostly available to visitors with their own equipment. After the picturesque fishing village of Nea Roda, you will discover one of the best sandy beaches of the bay - Voulitsa Beach, which stretches between two green hills, just like all the other beautiful beaches in the area. The beach has a bar that is open throughout the day, organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, so quality entertainment is guaranteed. And above all, it is not too crowded and suitable for all-day enjoyment.

Komitsa beach

Komitsa beach is located 4 km from Nea Roda and is considered one of the best beaches on Athos. Komitsa is actually two beaches separated by a cape, one organized and one unorganized. The organized beach of Komitsa is 800 meters long, wide and with coarse sand. In the western part there is a bar, a tavern, a playground for children and a parking lot. Sunbeds in the bar are not charged, they are free with the ordered drink. The sea here is very beautiful and clean, transparent blue.

In front of the camp, there are sunbeds that are provided with the ordered drink, and within the camp there is also a restaurant and a grassy area that is ideal for children to play. There is also a parking space in the back of the beach.

Ouranopolis

The city's main beach is a long stretch of sand stretching from the harbor. You can also choose nearby clean city beaches or small picturesque coves. One of the main characteristics of Ouranopolis is precisely the peace that reigns in it and will provide rest to all visitors worn out from everyday life. This part of Greece does not guarantee a crazy night out and is chosen by those who want wonderful sandy beaches, hidden bays as if from a fairy tale and an endless sea in front of them. It generously rewards every visitor with its natural beauty, harmoniously combining mountain and sea. Apart from the main town beach, which is beautifully decorated, there are numerous small, wild beaches in Ouranoupolis and its surroundings, which is the main reason why this place is almost never crowded. And most of the organized beaches belong to the hotel complexes for which this part of Athos is famous.

What you will most certainly, at least once during your vacation, with a bit of luck, have the opportunity to see while you are in Ouranoupolis are dolphins, which is a clear sign that the sea is very clean.

Olympics

The city beach in the Olympics itself is usually filled with local weekend tourists, Greeks who live in the area and want to spend a few days at sea. This beach is long and has sand as a base, but the entrance to the sea is a problem if you are in an area where there are a lot of sea urchins, so choose the entrance to the sea well or use a concrete dock from which the water is about 1.5 meters deep. The beaches around the Olympics are among the most beautiful, not only on Athos but also in the whole of Halkidiki. We would recommend you to definitely visit the beach Babylon, Cuba (Proti Ammoudia) and Zugla. The beach in Olimpiad is long and sandy and never too crowded. It has been awarded the Blue Flag for quality for years continuously.

Proti beach

There is a white sand beach opposite and it is only 1 km from Olympia. It is a beach located below the ancient Stagira itself, the birthplace of Aristotle, it is sandy, without shade, and the water is not as shallow as on other beaches.

Zougla beach

The smallest beach is almost never empty and almost the entire beach is covered with sunbeds. It is located in a relatively narrow bay, surrounded by a lush pine forest. There are interesting rocks on the left and right sides of the hill.

Babylon Beach

Babylon is the most visited beach in the vicinity of Olympia because it is large enough, it is about 300 meters long and about 50 meters wide, so no one bothers anyone. On the beach itself there is a net for beach volleyball, a shower, a nice beach bar where you can refresh yourself with a cold drink and which has a clean and nice toilet and shower.

Karvounoskala

The beach itself is sandy, about 250 meters long and up to 40 meters wide. It has a gradual transition to depth. It is located in a bay and on the left side there is a ridge that separates it from the city beach in Stratoni, while on the right there is a rock that separates it from a wild and unorganized beach. In the background are palm trees and various trees that belong to the already mentioned accommodation complexes. The beach is completely unorganized and has absolutely no facilities, so take all the beach furniture with you. You will only see a few small guesthouses, and if you need a shop or refreshments, you can walk to the center of Stratoni. There is no crowd on the beach, even in the high season, because there are mostly guests who stay in the surrounding houses, although there are also visitors from Stratoni or some other places.
