To the markets for fresh fish, but also new memories!
You will always find the soul of the place itself, the mentality of the natives, but also local popular products at the local markets. Everything that tourists want, as far as the food characteristic of Hellas and its tradition is concerned, can be found in such places... colorful, somewhat noisy, but distinctly fragrant markets.
Fresh fish, olives, olive oil, cheeses, fruits and vegetables, but also various handmade items in the form of souvenirs and useful items for the home, all the way to practical things that tourists like when they are on the road, but often forget to bring - essential beach accessories and wardrobe.

No place can be better known and experienced than by walking through the rows of stalls behind which vendors smile mischievously, while trying to resist the haggling skills of foreigners. Through a few exchanged foreign words and a few mutually appropriated mother tongues, each trade ends to mutual satisfaction.
That communication with the local population is a good reason to get information about market days and places where markets are organized, along with the weather forecast and the current sea temperature.
Markets on Kassandra
Markets on Kassandra are not specifically organized in popular places (Pefkohori, Hanioti, Polichrono), but fresh fruit and vegetables can always be bought from street vendors along the promenade, who announce their offer with megaphones.
In Kassandra, markets are located in the following places: Kassandria and Nea Kalikratia on Tuesdays and Nea Moudania on Wednesdays.
Experienced tourists see shopping and haggling as fun and part of a tour of the locality, from which they will certainly take something precious to them, to remember them on the trip... And frankly, there is never enough local Greek olive oil, so it is not unusual for tourists to return from such a tour with a few liters more.

For the less adventurous, as well as gastronomically disorientated visitors, who want only quality and homemade food, which they will prepare during their stay on this part of the Greek coast, we point out that the best market is the one that is closest.
In addition to the already mentioned street sellers in vans, we also suggest buying fresh fish on the coast from fishermen. Let's say that in Ormos Panagias on Sithonia, you can buy fresh sea fish every day in the port.
Markets in Sithonia
In Sithonia, the markets are in the following places: Ormilia on Mondays, Neos Marmaras and Agios Nikolaos on Thursdays, Nikiti on Fridays, and Sikyi and Poligiros on Saturdays.
Fresh fish is a frequent and most preferred food item during vacations on the Greek sea, and it should be noted that it is always cheaper in the markets than in the markets and fishmongers themselves. Buying it from local fishermen is a very attractive experience.
Markets on Athos
On Athos, if one decides to experience the market, it can only be done on Tuesdays in the town of Ierissos.
