Internet availability and Wi-Fi signal coverage have long been a prerequisite when choosing a destination and accommodation. The modern lifestyle does not question the existence of these conditions at any point on the planet, but the ways to provide them and the amount of their costs are still an item for detailed consideration before any trip. Most restaurateurs are aware of these modern requirements and offer their guests the opportunity to use the Internet, which often does not charge extra. However, the only problem here is the overload of the connection due to the large number of guests, when we do not get the service we expected and what we are actually used to. So that you don't think too much about it, especially if you have a job that doesn't prevent you from traveling, because you do it over the Internet, then as the simplest and most cost-effective solution, it is recommended to buy a mobile card at a price of 5 euros, which can be bought at newsagents in larger resorts or in the offices of mobile operators. A passport is required to purchase a mobile card. With the card, you can also buy a credit top-up that activates a certain amount of internet traffic, so for example in recent years it was possible to activate 8GB for a top-up of 10 euros, which was also a promotional offer for tourists that is mostly created during the season and which is always reasonable and in line with the current prices of these services.

The card can be used in all mobile phones, whatever model they are. The most common operators for buying an internet card are: TAZA, Cosmote (the best coverage and the best speed in our opinion), Vodafone CU and WIND (weaker coverage, but lower prices). You can buy some of them exclusively in branches, while some can also be found in newsagents or in one of the larger supermarkets. It is always a good idea to ask the locals about the places where these cards are sold, as well as which one is the best, because it happens that they are not available in all resorts. Our experience of one year shows that we could buy the card in Pefkohori, while we could not find it in Polykhron and Hanioti. The advantages of this card are multiple. First of all, it is more cost-effective to call via the Viber or Skype application than using roaming calls. Communication through social networks and uploading videos to them is much faster and certainly cheaper, and solving business tasks and obligations is significantly more relaxed. It is also good to know that by purchasing a card, its number remains valid for 4-6 months from the last top-up, as well as that the internet has its own deadline of one month from the payment. This means that if it is not used up within the stipulated period, a new refill is necessary. The card activation process itself is not complicated and depends a lot on the operator. Knowledge of English is required, but you can always ask for help from the sellers where it was purchased. Replenishment of the loan is always and easily possible in accordance with personal needs. The prices of all cards are almost similar, but the offer and promotional prices of credit top-ups change every season.
